18.01.07 | THE KZ OTSM HAS CONFIRMED THAT ITS QUALITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM MEETS THE DIN EN ISO 9001:2000 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS

The JSC KZ OTsM (an affiliate of the UMMC) has successfully undergone the repeated quality management system certification expert examination in order to conform with the DIN EN ISO 9001:2000 standard requirements. The expert examination was conducted by the “Intercertifica – TUV” (Moscow) auditors.

This gives the KZ OTsM the right to obtain the DIN EN ISO 90001:2000 certificate and the right to use the trademark TUV CERT for the next 3 years. Also, the standard requires the plant to undergo a supervisory audit every year.

Presently the certificate is being executed and the KZ OTsM is planning to obtain it in February 2007. The certificate gives the right to produce and process copper and copper-based alloys, and also to manufacture goods from the above materials.

As reported by the deputy general director for quality – the head of the KZ OTsM quality management department Andrey Martynov the audit revealed some improvements of the KZ OTsM quality management system over the last three years. Among the most important steps that helped to achieve this are: quality policy relevance assessment; QMS improvement projects realization; increased products quality, accreditation of the automatics and computer machinery central lab, and the central plant lab.
