09.03.06 | JSC KZ OTsM, s DIRECTOR GENERAL RECOGNIZED AS DIRECTOR OF THE YEAR

The Commission of Experts of VCCI‘s "Marked by Mercury" Program awarded the honorary "Director of the Year" title to JSC KZ OTsM‘s director general Alexander Darensky.

On basis of the 2005 overall results, Alexander Darensky was acknowledged as the best in "Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, and Chemical Industry". This was a recognition of his effective arrangement of the company’s management systems, as well as the results of his research and production efforts. Alexander I. Darensky has been head of the company since 2001. Under his leadership, programs for large-scale technical re-equipment and improvements to the company’s social life were carried out. Due to an effective coordination of the company’s production and marketing efforts, JSC KZ OTsM was able to steadily increase ouput volume and become an industry leader. Alexander I. Darensky has been frequently awarded in the regional "Marked by Mercury" contest. In 2002, he was named Director of the Year.

Andrey Levichev, head of JSC KZ OTsM’s economic planning department, was awarded the title of "Business Expert". Under his leadership, and with his direct assistance, a new budgeting system was introduced. This new system allowed for the reduction outstanding debts and non-production costs. He also developed and introduced a new procedure for business planning. The Finance Oversight Committee meets regularly to review the results of the main production departments and affiliated companies.

VCCI’s "Businessman of the Year", "Director of the Year", "Business Expert" awards have been given out since 2000. In 2003, these different awards were consolidated under the name "Marked by Mercury", and are awarded by the government and the governor of the Kirov region, N.I.Shaklein. In 2005, 50 people were chosen to participate in the program. These were chosen by a Commission of Experts, which included representatives of enterprises, regional authorities, regional statistical department, and the media. Winners were chosen according to criteria based on sociological studies, financial analyses, media articles, and recommendations from public organizations.
