JSC “KZ OTsM” (KZ OTsM – part of the Ural Mining-and-Metallurgical Company (UMMC)) has been visited by representatives of three leading European manufacturers of metallurgical equipment.

The meeting was held within the arrangements to the delivery tender of continuous annealing furnace and a shearing line. Implementation of this equipment will be the final stage of KZ OTsM innovate technological complex investment program.

According to the KZ OTsM chief engineer deputy, head of technical department Alexandr Luzhbin during the meeting the companies shared their business offers and technological ideas, explained the technological decisions on which the construction of the equipment is based to the plant’s experts. These decisions are achieved with the help of technical and economic indices.

We must remind you that by the end of 2008 KZ OTsM must have a functioning technological complex with complete metallurgical process from smelting and casting to finished rolled stock 25 μ thickness. The new complex will comprise vertical continuous die-casting plant, multi-purpose rolling mill, thermal equipment and band-cutting line for extra thin bands. Thus we will have an end-to-end technology comprising the complete process from casting to finished product, ensuring high quality and productivity in every stage of treatment process, minimized waste products and rolled stock manufacture costs.

Planned production capacity of the new equipment for high quality flat rolled stock is going to make 11 hundred tons annually. UMMC investments into the program are estimated as high as 20 million euro.
